At the 60th Filmfare Awards ceremony, the film won six leading awards, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actress for Ranaut. It is one of the highest-grossing Indian films featuring a female protagonist. Made on a budget of ₹105 million (US$1.4 million), the film earned over ₹2.2 billion (US$29 million) at the global box-office, emerging as a major commercial success. Ranaut's titular performance, with various critics and publications citing it as the best Indian film of 2014. For the ease of Ali’s fans, the cloud based version of the album has been released too. The album is different in a sense that songs are made for all age groups. The title song of the album is based on Ali Haider’s childhood memories which will also depict most of the people childhood memories. The latest buzz surrounding this mythical singer is that he has released his album titled as “ Bachpan ki Badami Yaadein”.
